The theme of the conference was "Mutual help for a shared well-being". Fang Laiying, the Vice President of the Chinese Hospital Association and member of the Proposal Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Professor Li Taisheng, the Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of Peking Union Medical College Hospital and designate chairman of the Chinese Society of Infectious Diseases of the Chinese Medical Association, co-chaired the conference.

Vladimir Norov, the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, addressed the conference. Zheng Wei, the Minister Counselor of the Department of European and Asian of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Secretary General of the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and Lu Ming, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Health Commission of China, attended the conference and made closing speeches.

Experts from various fields engaged in in-depth discussions with more than 200 colleagues from 30 medical institutions in SCO member states, observer states and dialogue partner countries, on topics of common concern in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.

In the next three weeks, more SCO webinars on combating COVID-19 will be held on the use of information technology in the prevention and control as well as diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, hospital infection control and logistics management, resuming work and production, and improvement of the hospital's capacity to respond to public health emergencies, with experts from well-known domestic medical institutions to exchange ideas with representatives of medical institutions of SCO countries.

The SCO webinar is the first in a series of online meetings organized by the Chinese Hospital Association and the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The meeting is open to the 18 member states, observer states as well as dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Participants are from health authorities, public health institutions and hospitals. Upholding the concept of building a global community of health for all, the meeting is aimed at building a communication platform for Chinese and other SCO member states' hospitals.
